It is with great pride and deep gratitude that I take on the presidency of COAMED, an organization that, for over a decade, has stood as a symbol of commitment, generosity, and love for Colombia. As Colombian physicians living abroad, we carry in our hearts a mission that transcends borders: to give back, through our knowledge and vocation for service, a real sense of hope to those who need it most.

Our foundation has touched the lives of hundreds of children and vulnerable communities in Colombia. Each medical mission has been an act of dedication, professionalism, and human connection. It is upon this legacy that I want to build COAMED’s future. My vision is clear: to continue this beautiful work with the same passion, but also to ensure a deeper, more continuous, and more meaningful presence in Colombia, and across Latin America.

 I firmly believe that our impact should not be limited to just a few missions each year. I envision COAMED as a constant presence throughout the region, strengthening local partnerships, supporting sustainable programs, and establishing action centers where we can provide follow-up, health education, and ongoing support. I want our missions to become part of a long-term, transformative process, not isolated events.

I also aim to strengthen the bonds among all members of our community: physicians, volunteers, donors, institutional allies, and friends of the foundation. This work is collective. Only together can we expand our reach, multiply our efforts, and leave a lasting impact in our countries.

To all who have been part of this journey, thank you. And to those joining us in this new chapter, I invite you to dream big with me. Latin America needs us. And COAMED, more alive than ever, is ready to answer the call.
