Dr. Alexander, board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine, received his medical degree from the Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia.

Dr. Alexander came to Orlando and became Director of the NICU establishing important programs in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Leader in building Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. In June, 2010 the NICU was named after Dr. Alexander “Alexander Center for Neonatology”.

Dr. Alexander serves as the immediate past chair of the Orlando Health Foundation’s Board of Directors. He currently serves as the Chairman Emeritus of the Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation after nine years as Chairman and has recently been appointed as the Ambassador of the Arnold Palmer Medical Center.

He is one of the Founding Fathers of the Children’s Miracle Network Foundation of Greater Orlando and currently serves on the CMN Hospitals Board of Governors. He is on the clinical faculty at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
